Dixie Huthmaker grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, where she became an accomplished musician and teacher. In the years that followed, she married the love of her life, Roland “Buddy” Huthmaker, and had two children, Anna and Charles.
When her children were in middle school, Dixie’s adventuresome nature made itself known as she started writing a book, dreaming of visiting cathedrals all over Europe, and attended sailing school. She always told her kids that they could follow any dream that they had and that she and Buddy were there to support them.
She has never wavered on that once and while she has spent the last few decades traveling the world, running a business, and writing books, she has also spent that time telling us yes…. Yes to the Appalachian Trail, Yes to Trail Dames and Yes to a thousand other things.
